This is yet another regular feature of my blog that I’m trying to be more consistent with and it was born on Twitter, where I would share my TBR photos and tag the authors. I brought it over to my blog to show what kind of books I’m in the mood for reading this week and also how much I use my local library. In almost every TBR pile, I have at least one book that I’ve got from the library.
My Physical TBR on 20.08.18
1. The Island by M. A. Bennett
I loved S.T.A.G.S when I read it last year; it was gripping, tense and full of film references. As soon as I heard Bennett was realising another book, I knew I’d have to pick it up.
2. Toxic by Nicci Cloke
I recently reading Close Your Eyes by this author and loved the sense of urgency and claustrophobia throughout the book. The twist also shocked me, so I’m excited to see what reveals and surprises Toxic has in store for me.
3. The Secret Deep by Lindsay Galvin
This just sounds like an excellent thriller with a possible fantastical angle. The writing style is mean to be just beautiful, which is a tall order from a debut, but I’m sure this magical mystery will live up to the hype.
4. Sea Witch by Sarah Henning
I love a good fairy-tale re-telling and Sea Witch is based on The Little Mermaid. After experiencing the high of The Surface Breaks and the low of To Kill A Kingdom, I’m a bit nervous to delve into this watery tale of deceit and dark secrets.
5. Catwoman: Soulstealer by Sarah J. Maas
The DC Icons series is one of the most intriguing things in YA right now for me, with a famous DC character being paired up with a YA author. Already we’ve had Wonder Woman: Warbringer from Leigh Bardugo and Batman: Nightwalker from Marie Lu, so I’m excited to see what Maas can bring to the table. A Birds of Prey story is a iconic symbol of girl power to live up to and I really hope the relationship between Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn is true to the comics…
6. Here We Are Now by Jasmine Warga
This just sounds like a cute contemporary for me to enjoy during the last few days of summer and to distract me from the looming prospect of school. I will pair it with watching To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, which is such a cute series that I really hope gets the support needed to turn the book sequels into films.
Plans For This Week
It’s such a pretty pile for me this week and with regards to the blog, I’m planning to have a week of firsts with my first ever book tag, haul and full length review (for the blog at least).
I have lots of these books on my TBR too!
