So yesterday, I was lucky enough to go to London for an amazing event with Becky Albertalli, Adam Silvera and Simon James Green with one of my closest friends.
The talk was amazing, inspiring, emotional and hilarious all at different times. Hearing Becky talk has been shifted my perspective on Leah On The Offbeat, boosting my rating to 3.5 stars.
After the talk, my friend and I hit the bookshops. I’d been saving for months and I knew I wanted to visit Waterstones Piccadilly and Foyles (some of the places I mentioned in Bookstores/Libraries I Want To Visit).
I wasn’t prepared for the amount of awesome stuff I would find…
My London Haul:
What If It’s Us was included with my ticket!
I’ve been after Sadie and Sawkill Girls for ages, so when I found them in Foyles, they had to be mine.
This year, I read and loved I Was Born For This, All These Beautiful Strangers and Bookshop Girl, so they were automatic buys, as was Life’s A Beach (the sequel to Bookshop Girl).
History Is All You Left Me broke my heart last year, so I knew I needed it for when I want a bit of heartbreaking brilliance.
Finally the gorgeous version of Catwoman perfectly matches my edition of Wonder Woman: Warbringer so I have a kickass female DC corner on my bookshelf!
A magical surprise:
After we’d finished shopping, I surprised my friend by taking her to the bridge by St Paul’s Cathedral where huge wands lives the street.
