Weekly Wrap-Up #2

I introduced this idea on Monday, but I meant for this to be a weekly feature when I briefly review the books I’ve read from Friday to Friday. I’m trying to be more organised and stick to my schedule this time, so today I’m sharing all the books I’ve read since 8th February.

1. The Wicked King by Holly Black 💙🏳️‍🌈

I adore this entire world that Black has created with all the intricate backstabbing and political intrigue. On top of that, her writing style is just delectable and the world-building is superb. Throughout the book, the atmosphere of suspense makes you fly through the pages until you reach that ending. Queen of Nothing can’t arrive soon enough. Four and a half stars.

2. Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas ⭐️

Again, another fantasy series that I really am enjoying. I liked seeing the characters grow and change over the course of the two books, the world-building is interesting and I will definitely be continuing this series. I am strongly behind one potential romance though and appreciated, but didn’t particularly enjoy the one that was explored in this book. Four stars.

3. Fierce Fragile Hearts by Sara Barnard 💙🏳️‍🌈

This was beautiful.

Heart-breaking, powerful and memorable. It felt so good to read from Suzanne’s perspective and I need to write a full review when I can properly formulate words again. Five stars.

4. The Light Between Worlds by Laura Weymouth 💙

This was an enjoyable story, but it just didn’t click with me. As I’m such a character-driven reader, it disappointed me when I just couldn’t connect with the characters in this story. Three stars.

Currently Reading:

I am about fifty pages into this dark, atmospheric book and I’m loving Martha’s powers. This is quite a short book, so I’ll probably finish it by tomorrow!

Which books have you read recently?
