Weekly Wrap-Up #14

Today, I’ll be reviewing all the books I’ve read up since my last wrap-up, but only up until the end of May.

1. Finale by Stephanie Garber 🧠

This was such a satisfying end to the trilogy for me, with even more magic, beautiful enchanted objects and world/mythology building that was so rich. Four and a half stars.

2. The Bone Season by Samatha Shannon

I knew I wanted to read more of Shannon’s work after loving The Priory of the Orange Tree, so I dived into her previous trilogy and enjoyed this opening. Basically, I loved the different types of clairvoyance and the complex characters, though I wasn’t a fan of the ending. Three stars.

3. The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J Maas

I don’t understand why this wasn’t just released as a prequel novel, as it tied up so many loose ends and really made me like Sam’s character and understand Celaena more. However, I liked some stories more than others, so it averages out as ok, but mildly forgettable. Three stars.

4. Anna of Kleve: Queen of Secrets by Alison Weir

Unfortunately, I just didn’t like this book, as I struggled to connect with Anna and found it overly intricate with the historical details. It just dragged on for me and I kept thinking of other books I wanted to read. Two stars.

How has your reading week been?
